What is a "Now" page for, anyway?
If you have surfed around blogs, you most probably have seen a section on the navigation bar of some of them called "Now".
This is like a overall status update for ourselves, like a journal summary that people regularly update to put in context where we are, literal and metaphorically, in life. How are we feeling, how did we spend the time since the last update and what are we looking forward to.
Recently I've played with multiple blogging formats like status here or on an AT Proto account via a shortcut on my phone so I don't have to use Bluesky's app. Yet, the more I play with those formats, the less appealing they feel— the sentence "this status could have been a blog post" comes to mind. However fun it may be to play with different formats and stuff (posting a special lexicon on AT Proto via iOS Shortcuts is mindblowing), if it comes to the detriment of writing and posting itself, it's not worth it.
So I might as well write an extended journal update as a blog post every now and then and keep posting all those thoughts in blog format, even if they're a bit more contained.
