afterthoughts from a dumb dragoness

As a 90's child, I'm not immune to Pokémon. I grew up with them as a very young child and even I eventually got less engaged with the series as time went on I just noticed I've had at least one Pokémon game on every handheld-coded console (including Switch family) from Nintendo.

And here we are once again. I got a Switch 2 for Metroid Prime 4, but little I'd know Pokémon would be my first (physical) game for this console. Funnily enough, this hasn't happened since my first own console: a Gameboy Color and Pokémon Yellow that I got as a present for my 7th birthday.

yesterday pokémon legends z-a's rom leaked, and until I get to play my switch 2 copy next thursday my partner asked me to help him run the rom.

first we tried with ryujinx, but he didn't have the required firmware. then he did but the emu crashed. then we tried eden, another newer emu, but it also glitched and was unplayable.

in the end i remembered i have a hacked v1 switch, so suggested him to play it there. had to redo everything since i had to update to migrate my profile to the switch 2: update the payload, remake the emunand, download tinfoil... and was slamming my head against the wall when i remembered i had to download the sigpatches too.

i still haven't been able to install the rom, when i could do it in a whim before. i'm 32 (old af in internet years), please give me a break.

today is the end of an era. today my bf and i finally updated our names on paypal.

it was actually easy... when you have an updated id card with your correct name to support your request. it's just that it took us 6 years to have ours done. jeez.

recently i've noticed so many furry artists cry for commissions if not directly ask for monetary aid, for one reason or another; even those with tens of thousands of followers with egregious prices.

and i ask myself about the root of this: are so many people that bad with money management? if commissions don't come for those more popular, have you tried lowering prices? we love the market when people pays hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a drawing, but then also ask for donations? something is not working there.

have you tried to look for a job? i also don't like to work in a 8-5 job, but it pays the bill. does crying online work so well? maybe it's the new internet meta.

new season, new style! i remade once again the styles of the blog and even though it's not finished i think i'm happy with the overall minimalism, cleanliness and the readability of this one.

it's based on an astro.js template i used to remake my blog (before i decided to stay on bearblog). added notes, which are the kind of post you're reading right now (i hope), as well as a separated section for any post i'd write in spanish; all sorted in different rss feeds you can choose to subscribe in case you don't care for any of them.

i'm still figuring out if i should commit to an all-lowercase style guide or not @_@
